The silence begins to vibrate; The vibration comes to rest. A logo—as soothing as the application itself.

Logo system for an EU-funded ambient audio app in the prototype stage.

An app for atmospheric sounds in everyday life: ambient, nature sounds, rain, forest, noise—with the potential for more musical moods later on.

Initial Visual Assets for Website and App Prototype.

Also suitable for use in pitch or investor contexts at a later stage.

Music as a Tool

Klamedi (derived from “Klangmediathek” = “Sound Library”) frames music not merely as entertainment, but as a mood-enhancing tool for both targeted sessions and everyday use. People seek soundscapes to foster tranquility, focus, relaxation, and atmosphere—and the application is designed to do exactly that. The brand lies somewhere between awareness work and everyday application.

The app is being developed to provide the general public with accessible means to utilize these specific types of sounds. The app’s timeless positioning also defines the central challenge for its logo design.

Strategy

THE LOGO WAS INTENDED TO RADIATE CALM, NEUTRALITY, AND TIMELESSNESS, WHILE REMAINING DIGITALLY CLEAN AND MODERN.

I wanted to avoid stereotypical audio or nature motifs. THIS APPROACH RESULTED IN A DESIGN THAT NAVIGATES THE SPACE BETWEEN HORIZON, WAVE, DISTANCE, AND MOVEMENT – A LANDSCAPE MOTIF REDUCED TO ITS ABSOLUTE BASIC FORMS.

“From mood to calm, from calm to mood.”

The customer was offered two logo versions to choose from or use for iteration.

Beispiel Layout, Logo + Schrift, Hochkantformat, colorgraded Background, AI generiertes Bild einer Wasseroberfläche, repräsentativ für “Klangtexturen” und Naturklänge.

The arrangement of the lines subtly creates “K M”, with a K rotated by 90°, without appearing like a classic abbreviation.

VERSION 1 WON THE RACE IN THE DECISION-MAKING PROCESS. The second option looked too much like a landscape, not neutral enough. Furthermore, version 1 scores points through the triad of the line, which symbolizes the transition from silence to vibration from top to bottom (or vice versa).

THIS FITS WELL WITH THE APP’S USE AND THE BRAND’S IDENTITY: PEOPLE SWITCH TO A DIFFERENT MOOD THROUGH SOUND, FIND PEACE OR ENTER A FOCUSED FLOW.

The fine lines create a minimalist and calm effect. The rounded forms lend the symbol an organic, fluid aesthetic. Its proportions are based on the Golden Ratio (see illustration).

The logo was delivered in three final variations.

Color System

The color system reinforces the logo’s calm, grounding effect. Dark green like a forest stroll, light like the sand on a vacation beach, vibrant like the sun – three shades form the foundation of the Klamedi color system.

Font Selection

The sans-serif typeface complements the brand mark and adopts the logo’s delicate, minimalist formal language.

Media
_Application

The design was delivered in three final logo versions, each in light and dark variants. The files were provided in various formats and scales, ready for immediate use and implementation within the app.

The staggered flow of lines—descending from top to bottom—offers additional potential for future animations, such as a wave that begins to oscillate or gradually subsides.

The system functions both with and without the wordmark, in square, vertical, and horizontal formats.

Additionally, profile picture variations featuring organic water and stone textures were created. These bonus assets were color-matched to the brand system, further enhancing the soundscape association.

Result
_Impact

The logo is suitable for use on the website, app prototype, app icon, profile pictures, and in future pitch contexts. The app is currently under development; an initial test version is being populated with playlists and music.

Customer feedback was very positive; further iterations were not necessary.

“Working with Hans From Space on the logo creation was absolutely first-class. He immediately understood our vision and implemented it with tremendous creative precision. Communication was consistently transparent, professional, and remarkably fast. The final design exceeds our expectations and perfectly reflects our brand. We wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for top-notch design!”

Key
_Takeaways

1. Sound can be silence.

The logo visualizes the brand as a subtle, calm movement progression.

2. Reduction can create atmosphere.

A few lines suffice if rhythm, proportion, and meaning are harmonious.

3. A logo can tell the story of processes.

The vertical evolution of the lines shape symbolizes the shift in state, that the app is designed to facilitate: from vibration to stillness, or vice versa.
