My Story as Hans From Space
The complete story of Hans From Space – from then until now. Here you’ll find my entire career, from the beginnings as a free artist to my own business with sound and design.
Prolog
Creativity isn’t a quality, it’s a passion. Since my early youth, I’ve been fascinated by forms of expression that capture something in image, sound, and emotion that words alone can’t. At the same time, I’ve been inspired by artists with a distinctive fingerprint—those who have developed a unique style and made it their trademark..
This is how the motivation to express myself through art and music grew. In the constant pursuit of my own style, I have since created numerous works, songs, and designs that tell the stories of my journey and the diverse perspectives of the environment surrounding me.
The Beginning
From now on, my life will be characterized by creative work, by creation. It’s this quality that people know me for and that many friends appreciate. I love taking on new perspectives, exploring, and clarifying subconscious themes by expressing them through my work. For me, design and music are like languages of emotion that can be used to translate information on a meta-level
First Design Experiences
My first experiences with design began in 2013 with founding an association, where the group of my friends and I organized our own dance and cultural events with a variety of themes for over five years.
I designed the first flyers, did copywriting for promotion and social media, and took on other creative conception tasks. With each event motto, a new design theme emerged – a new identity, and a new language, fitting the respective occasion. The designs were primarily illustrative and utilized many hand-drawn components.
Hans From Space is fascinated by inner worlds, psychology, and “what lies behind”. For me, great design manifests itself primarily in dynamics and balance. I don’t like to limit myself to one style, but rather embrace general aesthetic perspectives. Every style follows the same basic principles, albeit with different focuses and objectives.
Founding Hans From Space
2012, in a sunny city park in the middle of Melbourne. I sit for hours on the grass, intuitively drawing an A4 page full of abstract shapes and illustrative elements. “That’s it. I really like this style,” I think to myself, and say to my best friend, “I guess I want to draw more in this style. Only in this style!” Hans From Space is born.
Fascinated by what I had just put on paper, this decision actually came true, and several works were created using a similar methodology. And many people liked it. This was followed by a friend’s first canvas commission, my own prints and postcards, tattoo designs, and songs.
Songs? Yes, Hans From Space also ushered in a new era of my creative work musically. Since 2008, I produced exclusively electronic dance music. However, I realized that this style alone didn’t satisfy my diverse interest in a wide variety of genres.
Mixed Media Concepts
The visual and acoustic reinvention yielded a new result: mixed media art concepts. During my apprenticeship as an event technician, I came into contact with other media.
This gave me the idea of generating multisensory experiences by combining light, music, and art, transforming it into a universal media concept. This approach resulted in a series of colorful artworks that were presented in two exhibitions in 2019. Just as I was well on my way to the third exhibition, life threw a wrench in the works: the lockdown.
Webdesign and digital worlds
Back home, without visiting art markets, events, or exhibitions, I began a collaboration with an old friend who ran a web design and IT agency. I was working on my own website, and we met remotely on a daily basis, to collaborate on our projects.
Over time, this led to a long-term collaboration that spanned two years in Mainz. During this time, my passion for digital worlds, online communities, and modern technologies, as well as trends in AI and blockchain, grew.
Working with Startups in Leipzig
Afterwards I moved to Leipzig. I spontaneously got to know the city after being booked externally for the first time as a live musician, which allowed me to perform once in Halle and once in Leipzig. The creatively cultural city opened up many new contacts, which led to various design jobs in web design and corporate design.
With my newly gained media experience and increasing insights into the corporate world, I gradually focused my design expertise on startups. Creating identities and corporate designs fits my profile perfectly.
Since then, several albums have been released in a wide variety of genres. My projects have increasingly moved into the digital space. Live performances are rare, but I recently had my first booked international appearance in Poland.

Profile sharpening
My long journey as an artist plus diverse experiences with both acoustic and visual media make Hans From Space what he is today. A versatile creative service provider with a passion for comprehensive, impressive design systems.
In 2024, the concept for the “Leave the Town Music Collection” won the “Creative Indie Award” endowed special prize, honoring outstanding independent projects by either individuals or companies. The album concept included music production, compositions, instrumental recordings, vocals, cover artwork designs, social media content, campaign concept, and press kit.
As a side job, I am offering Ableton music production lessons since 2024. I really enjoy being a teacher because it allows me to expand my passion and experience with communication to another level.
New Perspectives
In 2025, I joined the launch of the “Greed4Good” project, with an international team during a hackathon in Lisbon. I took over the creative direction and was part of the founding of this project. G4G aims to raise donations generated through the distribution of our products using an automated system based on web3 and AI. The project brings together a global team with diverse expertise, including marketing, development, finance & business, social media, and partnerships.
